Frank was Head of the Engineering-Technical Section of Teledyne Hastings-Raydist of Hampton. He worked as a co-op student at Hastings-Raydist while attending college in the early sixties, and joined the company as a full-time Engineer in 1970. From 1965 to 1970, he was an Engineer with RCA Service Company, Patrick Air Force Base, Forida, and served at Ascension Island; Pretoria, South Africa; and Grand Bahama Island. He was appointed to the position of Head of the Engineering-Technical Section of Teledyne Hastings- Raydist in 1973. The CNC and TNCC Articulation Task Forces have negotiated and reached transfer agreements on a total of 25 degree programs. CNC President John E. Anderson and TNCC President Thomas S. Kubala have finalized the "2 + 2" Program agreements by signing them. Both Kubala and Anderson praised the agreements because they will increase the educational opportunities for many students and enhance the cooperation between the two colleges. TNCC students who earn an associate degree in the appropriate program can now transfer to CNC as juniors to the appropriate program. Continued on Page 2 Left toa nridg hDtr: . Frank Benson Memorial Scholarship Fund was established with a gift to the college from his parents, Dr. and Mrs. James M. Benson. Dr. Benson presented a check in the amount of $7,890 to the TNCC Board on Thursday, January 27, 1983. The income from these funds is to be awarded annually to an applicant residing in Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson, or York County, who recently graduated from any high school accredited by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Preference shall be given to academic achievement rather than economic need, and to applicants pursuing studies concentrating in electronics or related areas of studies, such as data processing. He still serves as a consultant. A native of Hampton, he received his B.S. Degree in Physics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, of Blacksburg, Virginia.
