PRESIDENT'S ACTIVITIES
1. Tom Kubala has been appointed to serve on the Dinner Committee for the annual Brotherhood Citation Dinner of the National Conference of
Christians and Jews.
2. Tom Kubala has also been appointed to an Ad-Hoc Committee of the Tidewater Consortium for Continuing Higher Education to make
recommendations for alterations to policy regarding private consortium institutions.
3. On January 25, 1980, Tom Kubala delivered the commencement address to the graduating class of the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice
School.
4. Tom Kubala recently attended the annual meeting of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in Atlanta, Georgia.
5. The VCCS Advisory Council of Presidents has selected Tom Kubala to serve on the Chancellor's Screening and Interviewing Committee. A
total of seven presidents was selected by majority vote.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Ray Jirran (History) was elected parliamentarian of the Newport News Democratic Party Committee.
Sid Hollowell (Financial Aid) conducted two Financial Aid Workshops for parents and students. The f i r s t workshop was held on February 5, 1980 at York High School, and the second workshop was held on February 11, 1980 at Tabb High School.
