Vol. 10 No. 12 December 16,1996 Do They Forget Once They Leave? Let's Ask Linda! by Charles Tookey Just before Thanksgiving we received a letter that read a little like this: "Dear Dr. Hill: I graduated from Thomas Nelson Com-munity College with an A.S. in Engineering in the Fall 1993 and completed my B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1995. During my enrollment at your school, I was fortunate to have received several scholarships . . . I have recently found a job and would like to help others as I was helped. Do you have any information on how I can set up a schol-arship ...?" To make a long story short, Thomas Nelson Commu-nity College's newest scholarship will be sponsored by the Linda Moroz Scholarship Fund. This $500 scholar-ship will be awarded annually for use during the fall se-mester. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, ap-plicants must be female, at least 25 years old, and major-ing in engineering or another technical curriculum at Tho-mas Nelson. In addition, they must have completed at least 18 credits at TNCC with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Application deadline will be May 1, 1997. Linda Moroz is an Alumni of Thomas Nelson Com-munity College. She graduated from TNCC with a cu-mulative GPA of 4.0 and went on to Old Dominion Uni-versity where she graduated from there with a 4.0 as well. She received ODU's Outstanding Scholar Award from the College of Engineering and Technology. According to Linda, she was able to receive this award "because of the intense studies I was subjected to at Thomas Nelson Community College." Linda has been working for the City of Toledo, Ohio since June 1996. While at Thomas Nelson Community College, Linda received the Honda Excellence Award, the Mildred Brown Scholarship, and one of the TNCC Alumni As-sociation Scholarships. Welcome home, Linda!
